ICARE

The icare Lifetime Care Scheme funds treatment, rehabilitation and community support for people who have been severely injured in a motor accident in NSW (regardless of who was at fault in the accident). The scheme is funded by a levy on compulsory third party insurance (also known as ‘green slips’).
Eligibility for the scheme is based on the nature of injuries sustained, and includes spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, amputations, severe burns or permanent blindness as a result of the accident.

Care1 has been an approved provider to icare lifetime care for almost a decade. During this time Care1 has become a leading provider of attendant care to icare participants.

Care1 care workers have been specially trained to provide the highest level of care required to help you or your loved one meet their rehabilitation and quality of life goals. Care1 has supported and specialised in providing care to people with Acquired Brain Injuries and Spinal Cord Injuries for 11 years, and continues to assist clients achieve positive outcomes through what is an incredibly challenging time.

How can we support you?

Our dedicated team of healthcare professionals will work closely with you and your family to deliver the best possible outcomes as part of the icare Lifetime Care Scheme. Our care coordination team will:

  • Meet with the recipient, their family and support team to discuss and understand service needs, now and into the future
  • Identify suitably skilled staff to meet unique and often complex care needs
  • Assist with the transition home and coordinate support with an assigned allied health team
  • Assist the care recipient to meet their individual quality of life goals.
