Care1 Damon

Damon

Director Client Relations

Damon is the founder and Managing Director of Care1. Damon originally commenced his career in the healthcare sector while studying in 1992. 

Damon enjoyed long associations with The Cerebral Palsy Alliance (formerly the Spastic Centre of NSW), The Australian Quadriplegic Association and the Home Care Service of NSW. These incredible organisations introduced him to some amazing people and some great ideas that helped shape the quality company Care1 is today.

Damon has an interest in photography, was a junior surf boat champion (back in the day) and enjoys supporting the Care1 crew to ensure quality outcomes for our clients.

Care1 John

John

Operations Manager

John has been working as the Operations Manager for Care1 since August 2019. John has a Bachelor of Business, a Graduate Diploma in VET, and has other training qualifications. 

John holds various community services accredited qualifications, and is a JP. John started working in the disability sector with the Cerebral Palsy Alliance in 1991 and supported people with a disability for 13 years in a hands on capacity. After 6 months in child care, John then commenced work with a labour hire company and was General Manager of this organisation when he decided to take a career shift into training. John was a contract trainer for 5 years providing training all around Australia facilitating training in various humanities qualifications. John worked for 6 years in a National Registered Training Organisation as a senior trainer, content specialist and trainer engagement manager.

John is an enthusiastic sports supporter and enjoys walking and hiking.

Care1 Jim

Jim

Jim has been involved in family run businesses over a long period and has gained an in-depth knowledge of the challenges associated with running small to medium sized enterprises.

As an Economics Alumni from Sydney University, Jim has also worked with various community-based clients covering a breadth of industries as an in-house financial and taxation consultant.

Jim was past Treasurer of Newport Junior Rugby Club, has passion for anything Rugby and Cinema anecdotes and trivia. The office folk are sure to not upset Jim, because he is the person responsible for paying employee wages.

Care1 Beth

Beth

Senior Care Coordinator

Prior to working at Care1, Beth has worked in the care industry for the past 12 years in various roles including, admin, customer service, and coordination.

Beth has worked for Care1 since January 2020. Beth likes travelling, exercising and watching Rugby league.

Manette

Accounts

Manette comes to Care1 from Canada with more than 20 years of overseas experience in accounting. 

She has spent the bulk of her career working as a financial analyst or controller for both private and publicly run organisations including time spent in Senior’s Care.

Manette holds an Advanced Diploma in Business majoring in Accounting from Canada and is working towards her Bachelor of Accounting here in Australia. Manette left Canada to travel the world taking the long road to Australia. She has visited more than 55 countries and is hoping to join the 100 Country Club one day. She enjoys meeting new people, learning about different cultures and exploring new places.

Ieva

HR, Recruitment & Training Administrator

Ieva is the Human Resources, Recruitment and Training Administrator at Care1 and has been with the company since November 2021.

At Care1, Ieva communicates with candidates to our open Attendant Care Worker and office roles, organises and conducts interviews, collects required documentation, certificates, and helps guide applicants through our onboarding processes. Ieva also works on ensuring all Attendant Care Workers have received required training and have the correct and up-to-date competencies – this is aided by working closely with the Quality & Risk Manager and our Registered Nurse – Clinical Oversight. Ieva is from Lithuania and moved to Sydney in 2016 with a plan to stay for 2 years, however, things clearly did not go as planned as she is still here and absolutely loving it! Ieva also loves music, food and basketball (it would be a crime not to being Lithuanian).

Ciara

Care Coordinators

She has been in the role since February 2022. Prior to working at Care1 Ciara has worked in aged care and home care in Sydney and Dublin.

Ciara has completed a Bachelor of Social Care & Bachelor of Social Science. Ciara enjoys the gym, sunrise walks and travelling.

Danielle

Client Relations and Referrals Officer

Danielle has been working at Care1 for 2 years, she started her role as a Coordinator and is now the Client Relations and Referrals Officer at Care1.

She is responsible for onboarding new clients which involves meeting with new clients, explaining the services Care1 offers, liaising with recruitment and the coordination team to ensure we can provide a good quality service to all our clients. She has been in the healthcare industry for over 10 years with a background in Disabilities and Aged Care and holds a BA Hons Degree in Social Studies and Social Science. She previously worked in Disabilities and Employment for 4 years where she placed people with Disabilities into paid work.
Danielle has an interest in music, the gym and loves to travel.

Louise

Care Coordinator

Louise started her career in Logistics in Europe before moving to Australia. 

Returning to work after family duties led her to change career path, she has worked in Aged Care for more than ten years in various roles. Louise has recently joined Care1, she enjoys the arts, travel and is a Francophile.
